In this manual, we will understand how to operate the Biometric Attendance SaaS from the website. This web application is currently in development phase and is hosted at Biometric Attendance SaaS server. We shall discuss SaaS as how a role would see it.

[edit] Login

To access the functionality of this application you must possess the credentials. To let the system know about this, log into it by clicking on the login/sign-in link.

The form appears which asks you to fill in certain things:

  • Company Code
  • Role
  • Employee Code
  • Password

Please select appropriate company and Role from the select menu. Fill in your employee code and password, and submit the form.

[edit] Field description

[edit] Company Code

This is up-to four alphabet code of your company. For demo user, you can use DEMO as the company code.

[edit] Role

You can log into company account using any of the following roles

Each of these roles have a specific role to play.

[edit] Employee Code

This is different from your employeeid. Employeeid is numeric, while a code can be alphanumeric. This is more for human identification of employee. Please note that while employee code can vary (of course, if you want to) employee id can not change.

[edit] Password

An alpha-numeric password that you can request your administrator to reset.

[edit] System Administrator's Tasks

System Administrator (SA) can do following tasks:

[edit] Set Reset Passwords

SA can set/reset passwords for employees whom he/she wants to give access to the SaaS Server. To do this, you must log onto SaaS Server as a System administrator. Once you do that, you then have to type in the Employee Code in the first field. This form will not ask for the old password. You can type in the new password twice to confirm and click on reset password button.

If successful, you will be transported to the main page.

[edit] Human Resource Manager's Tasks

A HRM can do the following tasks

[edit] Registering Fingerprint of Employee

To register fingerprint, you should have SaaS Client Pack installed on the PC. Normally, all the PCs that can used for Attendance can be used for the Fingerprint Registration.

Registration of fingerprint is at the moment awkwardly restricted. You can register from only one location at a time. The HRM decides which location the fingerprints will be registered from. To do that, following is the procedure:

  • Log onto the server as an HRM
  • Click on Registration Location from Top navigation bar.
  • This should show the current registration location.
  • Select location from which registrations are to be done.
  • Click on Save Location button.

This procedure will be overridden by more intuitive sooner than later.

Based on this, reports can be classified in three categories:

These as a result can not tell whether person is late or on time, and what should be his payment etc. However it gives basic information about time events and location details. Following reports can be generated before processing:
